Quality Control in Polymer Compounding

Consistency is the single most valuable attribute of an industrial polymer supplier. A processor who receives material that performs identically batch after batch can run a tighter, more efficient operation. At DOT RAD, our ISO 9001-certified quality control process is engineered to deliver exactly that consistency.

Batch Sampling

Every production lot is sampled according to a statistically derived plan. Samples are taken at multiple points along the compounding line to capture any in-batch variation. Each sample set is sealed, logged, and traced to its production run through a unique lot number.

Core Test Methods

  • Melt-flow rate (MFR) โ€” verifies the rheological grade matches specification
  • Density โ€” confirms polymer composition and crystallinity
  • Tensile strength & elongation โ€” mechanical performance verification
  • Impact resistance (Izod/Charpy) โ€” toughness under sudden load
  • Moisture content โ€” ensures stable processing for the converter
  • Ash / filler content โ€” validates formulation accuracy
A grade is only released for shipment once every specified parameter falls within tolerance. Out-of-spec material is quarantined and never reaches a customer.

Documentation & Traceability

Each shipment is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (CoA) listing the measured values for that specific lot. Full traceability โ€” from raw-material intake through compounding to dispatch โ€” is maintained for every batch, enabling rapid root-cause analysis should any field issue arise.

This rigorous approach is why industrial buyers across 50+ export markets trust DOT RAD polymers for their most demanding applications.
